About me and my vision
My Vision
About me
For me, photography is not just about capturing a moment - it’s about translating the feeling of standing there into something timeless. As a self-taught photographer who began this journey in Germany, my work is shaped by a deep curiosity for the world and a constant desire to explore it. There is a story behind every photograph - whether it’s the quiet anticipation before sunrise, the unpredictability of wildlife in its natural habitat, or the fleeting light that transforms an ordinary scene into something extraordinary. Whether I’m chasing golden light over vast landscapes, documenting the raw intensity of wildlife, or framing the quiet elegance of a city at dusk, I aim to create images that feel both powerful and personal. Travel is at the heart of everything I do - it fuels my perspective, challenges my creativity, and connects me to stories far beyond my own. Through my lens, I strive to turn fleeting moments into lasting impressions - images that don’t just decorate a space, but evoke emotion, spark imagination, and invite you to see the world the way I experienced it.
Klaus Mayer is a self-taught awarded photographer. He was born and raised in Germany and moved with his family in 2008 to the United States. His speciality is shooting family portraits, land- and cityscapes, wildlife and nature.
Over the years he took several photography classes to improve his abilities and to sharpen his photo graphics mind. As a lot of photographers he has often a vision in his mind that he wants to capture or create.
Despite of all classes and courses he did, his best teacher was his father. He showed him the beauty and fun of photography. All the knowledge that Klaus has, is because of his dads passion and patience with him to show him how everything works.
Several of his photos were published at the website of National Geographic and in other publications.
He loves to show and compete with his work in competitions. Over the years he received multiple awards and recognitions.
He was a finalist for “Photographer Of the Year” for National Geographic Germany and a finalist for “Wildlife Photographer Of the Year” at the Natural History Museum in London, one of the largest contests for wildlife photography.
With his family he love to travel around the world to explore new, exotic and unusual places.
Photography was always his passion. He love to capture special moments or events.
Since 2016 he is a member of PPA, Professional Photographers of America.
