Our first visit at this famous location last November. Can you imagine Iceland without snow in November? It sounds weird, but we had no snow and the temperatures were higher as in Texas. But it was one of my favorite spots we saw this time. Absolut gorgeous.

    A Room with a View

We went to Finland over Thanksgiving. Our hotel has one of the coolest rooms I ever have been. It’s a glass igloo. Does it sounds cool? Yes, it is cool. The large igloo fits four and has a bathroom and a shower.⠀ ⠀ It was the only night we could see the northern lights. As you can imagine we haven’t slept that night. What would you do if you have “A Room with a View”? The photo shows the view from the inside of our room.

At the end of a beautiful day in Iceland we stopped at the geysir. What a great timing to capture the eruption during sunset.

We just arrived at our hotel and decided to go the extra 45 min drive to go to the glacier lagoon. What a fantastic decision. You think the colors are fake? No, they’re not. I only boosted them in post production, just to show how mega awesome this sunset was. I never saw something similar before. Just wow, wow, wow.

  • Sunset in Vik

    Sunset in Vik

A magical sunset over Vik. This shot was taken at the top ot the hill by the graveyard. It's the view to the church down to the coast with famous rock formation at the black sand beach.

  • Magical Aurora

    Magical Aurora

What a magical night. We drove that night early to the glacier lagoon in Iceland in hope to see the northern lights. The result we got was spectacular. A huge arch spanned over the lagoon. The Milky Way on the left and the reflection in the water complemented this magical scene. This was so far my greatest experience with the northern lights.

  • Diamond Beach II

    Diamond Beach II

Chunks of ice blocks from the glacier are floating through the Glacier Lagoon into the ocean. The ocean will bring them back to the black sand beach. The ice is so crystal clear that it looks like diamonds. That's the reason why this beach is called Diamond Beach.
