Where the Waters meet

A phenomenon that happens close to Manaus in Brasil. The Rio Negro and Rio Solimões are meeting to form the Amazon River. The running side by side for around 4 miles without mixing. This is related to their different water speed and temperature. It's very impressive to see and experience.

It Is Not Rio De Janeiro

This is the pattern at the marketplace in Manaus in Brazil. It is the same as you can see at the sidewalks at Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro.

Chestnut-eared Aracari

Another highlight. The photo of this beautiful bird was taken at the garden of our hotel. The Chestnut-eared Aracari belongs to family of the toucans. He is a midsize bird of its kind and his population is decreasing, but he is not endangered.

Lunar Rainbow

What a night. What an experience. Tonight we went down to the falls to see them under the full moon. The scenery we experienced was on the one hand totally surreal and on the other the most beautiful one I have seen ever. It happens only under full moon conditions. The light of the moon creates a very special atmosphere. The water of the falls has a silver shimmer and under ideal conditions you will see a rainbow. The lunar rainbow! Just to recap. It’s pitch black and you see a rainbow created by the light of the moon. Seems to good to be true, but it’s true and it looks like magic.

A brazilian jaguar is strolling through the bushes of pantanal. Looking for the next prey. These majestic animals are always on the hunt. What a fantastic experience to see them in the wild.
